Hip Hopera

The largest popularizer of the term "hip-hopera" that I know of is
the Kleptones, a couple of fellows who last year used sampling from
guitar rock and hip-hop to create an album-length mash-up called "A
Night at the Hip-Hopera." It's really very good.

I wouldn't be surprised to find there are other, earlier uses, since
"hip hop" is constantly being punned on and blended.
