For a simplistic answer without even googling the term, "Red Mass" is a
tradition in the R.C. Church; I'm used to it from over 60 years ago, from my
days as a child in the capital of Kerala, India. It is meant for the legal
profession, for the Church to exercise control over them, as with other
matters of public worship, which may not be the right reverend thing to say!
