For some, "Christian" (adj.) no longer includes Lutherans

I was present at the following interchange in 1963 or 1964 in Minneapolis:
A: Is she a Christian?
B: No, she's a Methodist.
A: Well at least she's not a Presbyterian.

Both speakers were members of a Covenant or Swedish Covenant church.
