For some, "Christian" (adj.) no longer includes Lutherans

I recall reading -- can't at this remove remember where or when, though it
might have been in an undergrad anthro or soc course -- of the usage in some
churches of "the Christians" of such-and-such a place to refer to the
members of their organization there, as distinguished from "Christians" (w/o
'the'), referring to members of other Xtian denominations.
