MWDEU

in a previous life, when i was a PC rather than a MAC person, i
bought a Merriam-Webster disk with several dictionaries on it,
including the full (not the concise) MWDEU, a volume i use almost
every day in hard copy. (i own three hard copies, one for each of my
offices.) i am going to be directing an undergrad research project
this summer that involves searching through MWDEU (also Garner's MAU)
and would find this task much simplified if i could again get a
downloadable searchable copy. checks on the net suggest that such a
thing is no longer available.

i would pay -- possibly, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education
at Stanford would pay, but in any case *someone* here would shell out
real cash -- reasonable amounts of money for such a thing. it would
make my intern's life vastly easier as well (otherwise, he has to re-
type chunks of the entries). can anyone here (joanne?) point me
towards a way to acquire this?

e-mail to me at zwicky at csli.stanford.edu.
