I'm watching the NBA playoffs. NBA writer Peter Vecsey in Sunday's NY Post
mentions that Pacers star Jermaine O'Neill will try to make it to the "welfare
line."

OED has neither "charity stripe" nor "charity line." OED editors should  play
basketball more.

for "charity line."
