This morning the BBC News Hour interviewed Helen Clark, Prime Minister of
New Zealand, about yesterday’s military coup in Fiji. Madame Clark referred
several times to the perpetrators as the “coupsters”. This Fijian blogger
(http://tinyurl.com/yldacv) claims to have promoted the term, and provides a
link to a short clip of the Prime Minister using the term

Google finds hits from all over. If you are going to search on Google, be
sure to add terms that will bias the search toward geopolitical usage, like
“Fiji” or “military”. Plain “coupster” will bury you in references to
automobile refurbishing, where the “p” is not silent.
