(Sent to Steve Prindle with copy to ADSL)

After posting to ADSL on "change out a window, paint out a shelf", I got the
appended e-mail. I went through the Web procedure this time.

But I don't have the time to do this generally. I sympathize with your
wanting to stop spam, and I don't blame you for using this service. But
using it on this mailing list means that everyone who posts to the list has
to run this gauntlet for you,* and if they don't, you won't see their posts
to the list.

Granted, you probably didn't expect this consequence of combining the Spam
Arrest service with subscribing to the mailing list, but that's what
happens. Instead of imposing on everyone who posts to the list, I suggest
that you either configure the service to accept everything posted to ADSL ,
or change your subscription to digest format and just tell the service to
accept everything from American Dialect Society discussion list
<ADS-L at LISTSERV.UGA.EDU>.

And after doing that once and writing this letter, I'm going to ignore any
further spam service requests from anybody resulting from posts to any
mailing lists.

*(and again for anyone else who uses this service)
