cocaine (OED 1874)

1870 _Jrnl. Ethnological Society of London_ II. 226 (JSTOR)  It was
proposed in La Paz to employ cocaine to prevent salivation; but there are
some doubts as to whether the substance so called really represents the
true active principle of the coca-leaf.
