"the real McGillicuddy" = "the real McCoy."

New Orleans pianist Dr. John, interviewed on NPR a few minutes ago, referred to Johnny Mercer as "the real McGillicuddy."  A Google search reveals one other seemingly independent ex. here :

  I didn't check for conceivable misspellings.  Possibly the best-known use of the surname "McGillicuddy" has been on "I Love Lucy," where it was occasionally mentioned as Lucy Ricardo's maiden name.
