eggcorn: lunge < plunge

I'm still a little iffy on the definitions, but this seems to be some kind of eggcorny thing. I found the following on a video game discussion list:
"After all this time I've finally decided to take the lunge and buy an XBox..."
A quick Google search turns up a few more examples of "take the lunge" which is obviously semantically motivated. I didn't see it in the eggcorn database.
