Back in the '50's, a black R&B singing group calling itself "The
Channels" covered the pop tune, _That's My Desire_, by the white
pop singer, Frankie Laine. The song includes the line,

"And sip a little glass of wine"

Clearly sung that way by Laine. However, the Channels sing the line as

"_I'll_ sip a little glass of wine"

Back in the '60's, a white rock singing group calling itself "The
Rolling Stones" covered the R&B tune, _It's All Over, Now" by
the black R&B singing group, The Valentinos. The song includes
the line,

"She had my nose open"

Clearly sung that way by the Valentinos. However, the Rolling
Stones sing the line as

"She _hurt my eyes open_ "

Perhaps it would have been wworth it for the two groups to have
sprung for the sheet music.
