Phonemic vowel length

It's to get a jump on the future.

  From the old saying I invented that goes, "Illiteracy today, Inglish tomorrow."

  (WARNING: Saying is facetious and does not apply to pronunciation. All persons speak an unintelligible gabble when judged strictly by usages of the distant past. "Illiteracy" and "illiterate" are  tactless and unscientific terms. User assumes all risks. User agrees to hold coiner of adage blameless for any use or misuse whatever.  Adage is not for everyone.
