pimpin'

It reminds me of two of my favorite SNL characters, Pimpin' Kyle and
White Chocolate. In my day in Los Angeles, pimps didn't have colorful
monikers. There was Blood, but his nom de rue was only a shortening of
"young blood," a once-hip but innocuous form of address of literary
origin that could be used in speaking to any random dude younger than
the speaker. Otherwise, the players were simply known by their first
names, as in the case of Tommy, a fellow Texas native. All 'ho's had
"sporting names," but even these were all of the "Jane Doe" type, e.g.
Eugenia "Gigi" Miner AKA "Vicky Miller."

All say, "How hard it is that we have to die"---a strange complaint to
come from the mouths of people who have had to live.
