"Jimbo"; was: Yumbo

An 1839 case quotes a will that mentions a slave named Jimbo. The will was probated in 1805; the case does not mention when the will was drawn up, or any other information concerning Jimbo in particular. Magruder v. Stewart's Adm'rs, 4 Howard 204 (Miss. Ct. Err. App. 1839). The next reference to a "Jimbo" on Westlaw is not until 1911.

I have no ancient periodical access at the moment. When is "Jimbo" first attested as a nickname? (There's one in a 1950 movie I can think of.)
