Asterisks in sports

Talk of the "asterisk" in baseball statistics--where a player's
records are forever marked in the books as having been achieved under
special circumstances--has brought about this response to the
Mitchell Report, which describes drug violations throughout baseball.
It is a list of symbols for other infractions by players.
