Comeupins

A recently published author clued me into this spelling of "comeuppance".

There are 1310 Googits, though many seem to be for a person whose handle
is comeupins.

It seems to be an eggcorn of sorts, or a sounded out spelling at least.
But the spelling doesn't really seem to reflect the sound at the end of
the word "ns" for "ts". Perhaps there's a different pronunciation or
perhaps people are looking at "-pins" differently than I do.
