celebrity candidate

In what looks like an authentic "snippet," Google Books gives ". . . the emregence of the celebrity canditate" from William J. Keefe, _Parties, Politics, and Public Policy_ (Holt, 1972), p. 144. Clearly, the phrase "celebrity candidate" is being used generically--not in reference to a particular individual.
