It takes more than a language to unify a nation

To give an example from the UK supporting Lynne Murphy's point, yesterday
I bought a German-made power tool. The instructions are printed in 13
languages, including French, Spanish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish and
Greek as well as German and English. The box is less comprehensive,
containing brief descriptions only in 10 languages.
