A mere 37 raw Google hits, in which the phrase is generally used to
describe a reward given to a person who goes out of his way to do a
good deed. However, on an episode of CSI:Miami, the term is used
instead to describe the actions of a person who robs the scene of an
accident, vanishes into outer darkness, and then calls 911.

All say, "How hard it is that we have to die"---a strange complaint to
come from the mouths of people who have had to live.
