Heard of the Judges:

[Wilson Gray]

Black speakers: heroin > "hay ron"

White speakers: Oxycontin > "oxy kottn"

My impression is that "hayron" has moved from a mispronunciation to
slang, since many speakers, including Judge Joe Brown, use both
"heroin" and "hayron" indiscriminately, but "hayron" appears to me to
be more common.
