The still lithe and limber Frankie Manning, 93-year-old popularizer of the Lindy hop, choreographer, and exponent of rug-cutting, appeared on _Fox & Friends_ today to demonstrate some of his moves.  In response to a question, he said, "If you don't tap your feet, pop your fingers, and shake your head, you don't hear the music."

  Am not sure whether this applies to all music or just swingtime, but either way it's a neat summary.
