Same here.  It's hardly ever heard at all, but the OED does give a first
place phonetic spelling that puts the accent on the second syllable and
spells the 'des' 'diss'.
In the case of the other person I know (or knew, since he's now dead) his
use of it in a hearing I attended was mistaken by the stenographer, whose
transcript I later read, for "destitute."  (MAde no sense in the context,
but
who's checking?)
