I don't recall reading the word "kaleidic" before today, in a book review

Shackle argued that we live in a "kaleidic society, interspersing its
moments or
intervals of order, assurance and beauty with sudden disintegration and a
cascade into a new pattern."
It's apparently not in OED. I'm not urging that it should be. I'm not even
decided whether I like its usage in this setting. Just mentioning. Google
gives more hits than I would have guessed, about 2,720.
