A gay guy might say this to a presumed heterosexual, but it would still be a
use by a gay guy. On the other hand, Wilson's gay friends may tend to refrain
from using it with him because they view it as a sort of IN thing. That is the
way it appears to me, though as JL points out, one finds usages from nongays
as well.
