Of course, Taylor Record, who submitted a bill to the Indiana legislature
making pi = 3.2, and John Butler, who wrote the law in Tennessee that
forbad the teaching of evolution (and lead to the Scopes trial) were
both Democrats.  
 
Ignorance abounds in all political parties.
