Interesting suggestion--the possibility that "Arabic" is now stigmatized!

My students chuckled yesterday when I forcefully decreed (echoing the latest style manuals), "Do not use Roman numerals; we are not Romans. Use Arabic numerals." (I'll probably get reported to Homeland Security.)
