Germans, German language in Texas

This is a great thread. I spent parts of my early years in Gonzales and
Waelder (and also Possum Trot!) - later I lived briefly in San Antonio. I
love the hill contry of Texas. I went to a high school reunion in
Fredericksburg a number of years ago and knew immediately that I could
live there. (I did not go to hs there - the organizer lived there. The
high school was in Beaumont.)

This year our high school class reunion in is Hendersonville, NC! (The
organizer lives there.) How much German will I hear there?
