>From my midnight-shift cop days (69-74) the donut shops gave cops free
coffee and donuts because they liked having cops drop in at odd times -
typically one employee working, located in a fairly high traffic area
(hence, easy to rob when nothing else was open, in the days before the
stop-and-rob convenience stores.)
