An interesting speech defect:
A male, Puerto-Rican speaker of sE named "Jose Feliciano" (somehow,
that name has a familiar ring to it) routinely pronounced word-initial
and intervocalic /r/ as [v]:
"Be vevvy quiet! I'm hunting vabbits!"
Well, he may have been using beta, but I wasn't paying sufficient
attention to be able to distinguish between the two. IAC, it was his
use of [v] (or [beta]) in word-initial attention that caught my
attention.

All say, "How hard it is that we have to die"---a strange complaint to
come from the mouths of people who have had to live.
