In that case, I think we have to regard "kibosh" as a scribal error
for what should have been rendered as "kibbish". Maybe this is all
revealed in the new book on Yiddish reviewed in today's Times
(http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/17/books/17grimes.html?_r=1&ref=books&oref=slogin).
