I've heard it before. It seems to be current in hip-hop circles (boy,
do I ever sounds square and ofay saying that). I'm not really an
aficionado, though, so all I can say with certainty is that I'm aware
enough of the usage that it didn't prick up my ears at all when I saw
it in your citation.
