Incorrect.  My daughter was commenting Democratic strategies for use in the general election campaign without reference as to who the Democratic candidate would be.

Deconstructing your remark, I conclude that it is you who is (are?) "an Obama supporter and a Clinton detractor" since you took the positive part of the quote ("genuine sentiment" and associated it with Obama, and you took the negative part of the quote ("shrew[d] political planning") and associated it with Clinton.
