RIP Laurence Urdang

I met Larry just a couple of  times but saw instantly that he was a vastly knowledgeable and extremely witty man. He offered me welcome encouragement with HDAS when it was still just crates of index cards thirty years ago. 
 
The field of lexicography could use a few more curmudgeons like Larry to keep the rest of us awake.
