I've never heard it pronounced in English, but I agree with you on the
penultimate stress. I think you are right that "ga" would sometimes be
as pronounced "gu", though I think "gah" or "guh" would be more common.
In my dialect (where "c" is pronounced "ah"), "no" is probably "nah".
"Bu" is probably reduced to a schwa as well. Just guessing, but perhaps
/nc" buh nah' guh/. BB
