I don't think either would be used in ordinary speech. A more typical
sentence would be, "The Dutchman asked where his car was." Or, if one
wanted the direct quote, "The Dutchman asked, "Where's my car?" ("Said"
doesn't make sense in the example, though I know that isn't the point.)
