Jagwire

A student at the local high school (Pittsburgh area) estimates
offhand that the pronunciations "jag-wire" and "jag-wahr" or so have
roughly equal frequency at school, without any obvious correlation
with age, sex, race, whatever. Trisyllabic pronunciations are not heard.

Both pronunciations are very frequent at the local high school ...
probably because of the name of the school's football team. The
informant is not sure whether the same distribution of pronunciations
extends to the name of the actual animal, or to the auto marque.
