For the record, I have never said that food-term postings are "beneath
ADS-L." In fact, I have many times said that I felt his food-term research was an
invaluable asset for the ADS-L archive. Occasionally, I have suggested that SOME
of his postings seemed a bit trivial. But if I had found his messages
generally useless, I would simply have deleted them and not bothered to comment at
all. Most real professionals welcome feedback, even when it is negative.
