Correction: The New York newspaper that ProQuest is adding shortly is the New York Tribune, not the New York Herald-Tribune or New York Herald.

Subject: More Newspapers Being Digitized
I'm told that ProQuest will soon be adding the San Francisco Chronicle, Baltimore Sun, and New York Herald-Tribune to their online coverage. Because San Francisco is such a culturally important city, I think that will be very useful, and the New York Herald-Tribune, particularly if it includes the very important earlier separate papers, the Herald and the Tribune, should also be great. They will be adding some more papers at the end of the year, but I don't yet know which those are. I suggested that they add the New York World, Philadelphia Inquirer, and New Orleans Times-Picayune as well if they are not already in the group at the end of the year.
The Yale Daily News and Daily Illini (University of Illinois student newspaper) are digitizing their back runs, which should help with slang and youth culture.
