"The mortal plain"

The following appeared in a review, by James Lileks, of the new "3:10
to Yuma":

"It’s so preposterous that you cannot accept the movie as a depiction of
a sequence of events that occur on the ordinary mortal plain"

Lileks might be playing with the fact that he's talking about a Western,
but I find 3750 Googits for "mortal plain". (A lot of them seem to be
associated with D&D-type games, where multiple planes are a standard
feature.)
