I have a cousin with Down's syndrome; and several acquaintances who work
with people of similar IQ.  I'm told the current PC term is "mentally
challenged."

It perhaps should be noted that these folks themselves don't care about PC
terms for themselves?  They only care that you treat them nicely.   There's a
lesson in that!
