glottal "y"

I hear a lot of epenthetic (inserted) "y"'s in SW Virginia and along Southern Appalachia.  For instance "The man hurt his head" sounds like ~~ Thu mayun hert hiz heyud ~~  I say it  below.  Perhaps that is what's meant by "glottal y"?
