flyting and rap

Another oft-rejected posting:

Long-time listers may recall that the undersigned unearthed that Civil War
poem from _Vanity Fair_ and posted it back in 2006.

Its resemblance to rap seems to me to be entirely superficial and
accidental.  Hence the posting and the mock commentary that accompanied it.

Perhaps the sensational and ironic header - "America's First Rap Poem" -
was misleading to some.
