pronunciation of New Orleans

The wonderful Mayor Nagin  and many other true New Orleanians say, " Nuh Wall ee -unz" Some say "Noo  Wall unz".  No one says New Orleenz if they were taught correctly.  And the natives NEVER SAY "N'awlins"  Thats just a cliche that someone came up  with and tourists love to use, thinking that they are saying it correctly.
