Google Books shows it's in Farmer and Henley's "Slang and its
Analogues ..." of 1893, Vol. 3 (Fla. to Hyps.), page 222, col. 2,
under "growler" / French Synonyms":

un foutoir ambulant (= a fuckery on wheels)

And also in an 1890 edition?
