"in phonetics" - golf/gulf

I pronounce "golf" as ~gaalf (~aa as in "Saab") and "gulf" as in ~gulf (~u as in "up").
My cousin says "golf" as in ~goulf (~ou as in "out"). We discussed this awhile back.

thefreedictionary.com speaker says for

"golf" USA = ~gulf
"golf" UK = ~gulf

"gulf" USA = ~gulf
"gulf" UK = ~gaalf

So UK says it opposite of what I say for "gulf" and "golf".

However, m-w.com does speak them as I say them.
