bidirectional slip of the tongue

Just heard from the announcer on WGBH's classical webstream:

"Mendelssohn wrote two strwing -- string -- krwintets ..."

What I've written as "strwing" has a retroflexed stop as in "string", but
with a /w/ inserted before the vowel, anticipating the /wI/ in "quintets".
The speaker corrected it, but then perseverated the /r/ into the second word
of the phrase and just kept on going.
