a linguist friend writes to ask if i know of any sociolinguistic
studies of "I have gone" vs. "I have went".  (note that this is not a
question about reports of "have went"; there are tons of those, and
they've been appearing for a very long time.  it's a question about
studies of who uses these forms, on what occasions, and for what
purposes.)

i don't in fact know of any such studies, but i told my friend i'd ask
the folks on ADS-L.
