At the just-completed conference of the Dictionary Society of North
America, Garrison Bickerstaff  (University of Georgia) gave a very
interesting paper called " 'Go missing' in American English: A Virtual
Corpus Study." His e-mail address is gbick at uga.edu, and I suspect he'd
be happy to send a copy to anyone who would like to see it.
