a caller into a radio show mentioned the work ethic during the
depression "area". the phrase "during the depression area" brings up 9
hits, two of them aren't relevant because of the sentence boundary.
"Often, comic book plots mimicked the everyday lives of people during
the Depression Area"

one odd page ( http://www.reversespeech.com/election08.htm )
transcribes a sentence spoken by mccain, but in the provided audio of
a line, mccain pretty clearly says "era".
"McCain: 'During the depression area we had a thing called the home
ownership loan [corporation] and they went out and bought these
mortgages and people were able to stay in their homes.'"

-------
tangent: the latter page is a list of "reverse speech" examples from
politicians. note that "corporation" is in brackets because the author
of the page believes(?) mccain is trying to hide the phrase 'the share
broke'.
here's to my sweet satan indeed.
